Coping
Coping, or coping stones are a type of cap that covers a wall, to allow drainage and water runoff, and provide a uniform finish.
Coping stones for walls are normally angled or sloped to allow rainfall to run off of the wall and prevent moisture damage over time. This prolongs the lifespan of the brickwork on the face of the wall, as mould and moss are less likely to develop. Coping can also be used on flat roof terraces and roof parapets.
Wall coping is available in a variety of materials, including porcelain, aluminium, and concrete. Which one you choose depends on aesthetic preference and maintaining consistency with the existing wall. For example, you might choose stone coping to suit a more traditional or heritage property, or porcelain for roofing projects. Aluminium coping is generally used for parapet coping on flat roofs and apartment buildings.
